Factory Inauguration
Zoomlion India proudly marked a significant milestone with the inauguration of its cutting-edge manufacturing plant in Khed City, Pune, on 28th September 2024, coinciding with the 32nd anniversary of the Zoomlion Group.
The event celebrated the establishment of the company’s 14th manufacturing plant globally and was attended by esteemed dignitaries, industry leaders, and prominent guests. The new facility spans an impressive 1.66 million sq. ft., developed in two phases. Construction for the first phase, covering 41% of the total development (667,340 sq. ft.), began in April 2023 and includes manufacturing buildings, administrative offices, open assembly areas, and stockyards. This phase will focus on producing Tower Cranes, Crawler Crane booms, Concrete Pumps, and Mobile Cranes. The plant is equipped to manufacture up to 100 Tower Cranes per month and will soon expand its capabilities to produce larger cranes on a Semi Knocked Down (SKD) basis.
Looking ahead, the company aims to export its cranes to South Asian markets, strengthening its global footprint. The plant's design adheres to MIDC (Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation) regulations, incorporating designated green spaces and an advanced firefighting system in compliance with government safety guidelines, ensuring a secure working environment for its employees. The factory’s strategic location—38.5 km from Pune Airport and 154 km from Mumbai Port—positions it perfectly for both regional and international operations.
The inauguration was graced by the presence of key figures including Member of Parliament from Pune constituency Dr. Amol Kolhe, Member of the Legislative Assembly Mr. Dilip Dattatray Patil, CCTEB CEO Mr. Jiang Guo Bing (President of the India-China Chamber of Commerce), Mr. Krishna MV, CEO of Khed Economic Infrastructure Pvt. Ltd., Deputy Superintendent of Police Mr. Amol Mandve, and senior executives from Friends Equipment and Electromech Material Handling. Esteemed clients from across India also joined the event, underscoring the plant’s importance to the construction machinery industry.
The ceremony began with a traditional tilak and pooja, followed by a guided tour of the new facility, showcasing Zoomlion India’s advanced production capabilities. A Key Handover Ceremony saw CCTEB CEO Mr. Jiang Guo Bing and Project Manager Mr. Wang Chao symbolically hand over the keys to Deputy Plant Manager Mr. Amol Nirgude, Mr. Ken Zhou, and Mr. Rohit Paul. The ribbon-cutting ceremony, attended by all key dignitaries, officially opened the facility. The event continued with a diya lighting ceremony and a captivating Ganesh Vandana performance, celebrating India’s rich cultural heritage in conjunction with Zoomlion’s achievements.
Business Director Mr. Danish Lari took the stage to honor key clients and government officials, recognizing their role in Zoomlion India’s success. He also emphasized the significance of this new plant to the construction machinery sector and highlighted the exciting prospects that lie ahead. With its state-of-the-art technology and manufacturing capabilities, the facility is set to become a game-changer in India’s construction equipment industry.
